When teaching people to bake I often get asked “is it really that important to preheat your oven?” The simple answer is YES! Preheating your oven and allowing it time to reach the correct temperature before you put anything in it is possibly the single most important thing you can do when you are baking.
How long do you Preheat an oven to 180?
Most ovens take 10-15 minutes to heat up to the proper temperature. If you have an old oven, you can’t have a dial with different temperatures written on it; It may only have an on / off switch. If this is the case, simply turn on the oven and wait 10-15 minutes before setting the item to bake inside.
